My name Jessie, I am Ryan's aunt and I'm not the type whose usually good with words, so I'll try to make this as simple as possible. My nephew Ryan Mannes, who was less than a month shy of 15 years old, was hit by a drunk driver on a motorcycle on Friday, October 14, 2016, at approximately 9:15 pm and killed instantly.
Ryan was a fun, loving and free spirited boy who had a strong love for sports, especially baseball. Ryans love for baseball stemmed from his dad, his grandpa and his great grandpa. He loved talking about baseball, almost just as much as he loved playing it. He's been playing the sport since he was 6 years old. Pitcher, catcher and second base were the positions he played.
Ryan was a very creative kid, and he was always drawing. He loved drawing so much that he won a merit award at school for his art. He loved to go camping with his family, and enjoyed anything that involved being in the outdoors and with his family. He had a strong love for his mother, Natalie Mannes and father, Shawn Benoit, with whom he shared a strong bond with. As well as his nana's, papa's, aunts and uncles.
My family is at a complete loss of words. As you can imagine, we've had no time to prepare ourselves, emotionally or financially. With no time to think, say our last words, our final goodbyes. We're completely numb.
So, it is with heavy grieving hearts, that we reach out to you in this time of need and pray for some assistance in helping both Ryan's mother and father in this tragic time of need. For the only thing keeping our family going is knowning that Ryan is with his Lord and savior. We want to thank EACH and EVERYONE of you for all your love and support during this absolutely difficult time in our lives.
