Help Russian River Flooding Victims

The Russian River area experienced the worst flooding in two decades the first week of March, with the river cresting at 46.1 feet, 14 feet over flood stage of 32 feet. The towns of Guerneville and Monte Rio were completely isolated, as all roads leading to the communities were flooded. Even as the water recedes, the damage and debris left behind will require a huge clean-up effort before residents will be able to get back into their homes and businesses can re-open. The area depends greatly on tourism, so the sooner the area can welcome visitors, the better. Through this GoFundMe Campaign, we're raising money for the resident flood victims of Guerneville and nearby towns.
Our family has come to love the natural beauty and relaxed recreation of the region. 6 years ago we purchased a riverfront home in Guerneville, which we renovated and set up as a vacation rental. We're so grateful for the wonderful weekends and longer holidays we've been able to enjoy there with friends and extended family. As a rental, it provides so many others from outside the area a relaxing retreat and base to experience and appreciate all the wonderful things the Russian River region has to offer.
Our vacation house was partially flooded this week, so we'll be there cleaning up and putting it back together. We're very lucky that we were able to salvage a lot of items, that no one was hurt, and that we have the resources to get our house repaired and replace destroyed items.
So many residents in the area had their homes entirely under water, and there will certainly be a tremendous loss of personal property, vehicles and more. This is a horrible loss for so many, and recovery will take time, effort and expense.
We want to help those in the community get back into their homes, replace their belonging, and help them get back on their feet. 100% of the money raised through this campaign will be donated directly to relief organizations and charities supporting the communies of Guerneville and Monte Rio. None of this money will go to us personally.
Even small contributions will help! We will update this site with more information as we figure out the best way to provide help to those most in need.
