Running for Stan

Thank you for visiting my page.

You will have heard that my best mate in football, the legendary Stan Bowles, was cruelly diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a couple of years ago. Since then I have witnessed his gradual decline.

It was certainly not on my Bucket List or in my wildest dreams to run a marathon, particularly not at the age of 66. But after going to the London Marathon earlier this year you quickly realise what an amazing event it is.  The commitment of the runners and the passion and  the support of the crowd was truly exceptional, and the money raised for the various charities was outstanding and everybody played their part. I was truly moved and inspired to do something.

So now it is my turn.  I will be running the New York Marathon on Sunday 4th November 2018, raising money for Stan and the QPR Nr 10 Foundation and the Alzheimer’s Society.

By coming to this page you are donating directly to helping Stan’s day to day care.

Regardless of how much you choose to donate, believe me you will be helping Stan live more comfortably through the final chapter of his life.  Stan gave so much joy to those who saw him play so I would like to think you can give a little something back.

With the greatest of thanks.
