Run for drumatooth

Running has been an outlet for me over the past three years. After losing my dad in June to Type 1 Diabetes, I've had a hard time connecting to my emotions and sorting out my thoughts. It's been a really tough couple of years and now he's no longer with us. I've turned back to running. So far, I've run in three half marathons and I'm signed up for my fourth next week. I never thought I would run a full marathon, but after my last half I decided I would try to go for a full just sometime before I turned 30. I never would have guessed this year would be the year. Seems kind of perfect though. Running is freeing, peaceful, a way for me to be alone....with myself, and with God. I decided at the end of last summer I wanted to run for my dad. I wanted to run for Type 1 Diabetes. I did a lot of research only really expecting to find a half marathon somewhere close to home that would help raise some awareness. Little did I know I would find a lot more than that!!! JDRF is a worldwide organization that is solely dedicated to Type 1 Diabetes. They have locations all around the world helping raise funds and awareness to cure this disease. I stumbled upon this website and begin searching for any way I could get involved. But I especially wanted to run. Again, I only thought I would run another half... Maybe.. I didn't think I was ready to train for a full. But life is funny and the one and only run I could do in the time I needed to train fell on my dad's birthday! June 4th! Crazy perfect! There is no better day to honor him and Type 1 Diabetes than the first birthday we celebrate him being with Jesus. Oh, and did I mention it's a full marathon! 26.2 miles. And it's in ENGLAND. And I really need your help! I need your help to get to the race and raise money for the marathon and for JDRF! I made my sister and I necklaces for Christmas this year out of my dad's cymbals. His drum cymbals. Anyone who knew my dad knows he loved his girls and he loved his drums. These pieces of his cymbals are priceless and we both hold them dear to our hearts everyday. And we want to share a piece with you! To help fund raise for my Marathon I'm selling necklaces, bracelets, and bookmarks made from dad's precious drum cymbals. If you are interested in purchasing a piece of the cymbals I'm taking orders via private message on Facebook :) also you are welcome to donate to the cause directly through gofundme. I really appreciate everyone who has been there for my sister and I during this time and I can't wait to RUN FOR DRUMATOOTH in June! Thank you so much
