Rulerboy - a unique platform adventure - demo

Donation protected
Rulerboy is a 2D sidescrolling platform adventure with unique characters and gameplay set in Stationery Kingdom -  offering something which hasn't been done before!

I have started the project and finalising the game design document/in talks with many solo developers/designers and I would love to be able to show you all something of substance - a trailer showing gameplay before launching the Kickstarter campaign.  So far we have the initial concept art and storyline below...

The funding will not be used unless the goal is met. Otherwise you will be refunded.

If you back this you will be listed to receive an ad free copy on release and be one of the first to receive the alpha!

Gameplay mechanics

Rulerboy can dash, jump, double jump and use his rulerang to overcome enemies. Be careful though as the rulerang has a cool down so you'll often have to rely on a powerful jump stomp to destroy Scyzors minions. There will also be power ups - to be confirmed.

The storyline...

The evil Scyzor rules over Stationery Kingdom with his legion of evil minions - predominantly an army of paper monsters created by him. Scyzor is evil to the core and craves more power over the kingdom.

He seeks out the golden ruler, an ancient artifact in Rulerboy's home town of Metric City. The golden ruler powers all of stStatione Kingdom so without it there would be complete chaos. The golden ruler is guarded by Rulerboy's parents who are formidable warriors, however, they were no match for Scyzor. He has defeated them both and destroyed the golden ruler, shattering across the kingdom into tiny pieces.

Stationery Kingdom had now been brought to it's knees and Scyzor has enslaved many of the citizens.

Rulerboy's anger for humiliating his parents and brining the kingdom to a grinding halt sparks him into action on an adventure to retrieve the fragments of the golden ruler, and restore it to its rightful place in Metric City while bringing an end to Scyzor's malevolent reign - thus restoring peace and justice in Stationery Kingdom. Thanks

Levels

Each level will contain 3 fragments of the golden ruler for you to find as well as reaching the end of the level. There will be 50 levels in the game with different stages and a boss at the end of each stage. Stages include - pencil forest, eraser zone, crayon canyon and more! Levels will increase with difficulty as the game goes on and completion of the adventure will depend on your mastery of Rulerboy's skills.
