After a long career dedicated to the education of thousands of immigrants and refugees in the Denver area, one of our own is in need. Please help us raise money to support Ruby and John as they face a new challenge in their lives.

John and Ruby have lived a very frugal life, dedicated to their pursuits of education and bettering the world around them through the education of others. They are selfless and kind, and would happily give up what little they have for others in need.
Ruby's generousity extends far beyond the classroom, and to all whom she encounters. As a Virgina French Allen award recipient from CoTESOL and many other accolades, Ruby's status as a master teacher, trainer, and mentor is well-documented. You would be hard-pressed to find a teacher who has not been enriched by even the briefest of encounters with Ruby in the copy room. Ruby has the singular ability to leave every person she encounters with a pearl of wisdom, teaching strategy, or a new way to examine the world.
With numerous hospital stays and medical bills accumulating quickly, John and Ruby find themselves in the position in which they now require financial support. Humble and grateful, both Ruby and John have agreed to allow others to act on their behalf in this time of need, and we, representing their friends and colleagues, are asking for your help.
John and Ruby work as adjunct instructors at the Community College of Aurora. (For those of you outside of education, this means contracted, part-time instruction with no benefits.) Without Ruby's income, they are struggling to meet monthly expenses, not to mention their mounting uncovered medical bills.
John is trying to balance cooking special meals to bring Ruby twice a day in the hospital, teaching his classes at CCA, and dealing with his life-partner's very precarious health crisis. If ever soulmates have existed, it would be John and Ruby-- kindred spirits doing good in the world.
