Walk to Guatemala

$6,600 of $6,600 goal

Our video gives a summary of our story. Members of two churches in Charlotte are working together to assist a small village in Guatemala. David Smith, Jean Raley-Dennis, and Barry Holcomb attend Holy Covenant United Church of Christ. Others going with us attend Piedmont Unitarian Universalist Church. On our trip in July of this year we will build a classroom, mixing and pouring concrete and building walls and a roof. The room will become a computer classroom which will open up new learning opportunities to the children who already attend school and for the adults. The computers have already been donated by another agency.

For most of us, this is our first mission trip. Our coordinator, Amy Hartman, has led over 15 mission trips to Guatemala.

We want to make a difference in this world. We can go to this village and by providing some physical labor and supplies, we can assist in a small way in improving their lives. But most importantly, we wish to put our faith into action. We want to demonstrate that the love of the God we serve motivates us to go beyond ourselves and share with others.

Please assist us in achieving our goals. Thank You, and God bless you.
