Jason Blakeslee - where do I begin? Anyone who knows him will agree that he is the most extraordinary guy; influential, generous, loving, talented, humble, and simply put - genius. Jay and his lovely wife, Rachel, are the proud parents of 8-yr-old Lucas, a budding little mastermind in his own right. Jay is a Mechanical and Controls Engineer for Granco Clark in Belding, Michigan. Rachel has just begun her final year of study at GVSU.
On July 20, 2015, his routine motorcycle commute home from work turned tragic when Jason was violently struck from behind by a distracted driver in a pickup truck, narrowly escaping with his life. The helmet he wore was ejected and Jay is now the victim of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). His broken bones will heal rather quickly, but the TBI will take much, much longer, and God only knows to what extent he will recover.
To the Blakeslee family, the world is now upside-down. As Rachel and Lucas strive to keep their home through this struggle, there is no telling if and when Jay will be able to return to his engineering job or any other, for that matter. Insurance money will only go so far to cover medical bills - hopefully all of them - but the family's source of sustaining income has come to a screeching halt.
