GORDON SIMONEAUX

$1,210 of $2,000 goal

Gordon Simoneaux was your average working, tax paying, law abiding citizen, until March 12th while attending a child's bday party at the Hampton Inn in denham springs the manager decides he wants the children to vacate the premises and calls the denham springs police dept to force the children to leave the hotel, as Gordon watched the young female police officer talk to the parents of the child,he could not stand the fact that the hotel had a car in the back parking lot with a male that seemed to be very intoxicated or incoherent. So he politely walked up to the officer and told her maybe the hotel should have called about the man in the parking lot instead of the innocent 8 year old children in the swimming pool. The officer agreed with Gordon and walked out to assess the situation, which turned into a life changing event for Gordon. The man in the car took off by foot fleeing the officer heading in the direction of gordon with the officer on foot chasing behind, Gordon did what he thought was right and grabbed the man, wrestled him to the ground with the officer Landing under the man and gordon, there was a struggle and the officer was not able to get to her handcuffs,as he was on top of her and fighting his was to get away. Another bystander stepped in to help and was able to get one of the man's arm for the officer to cuff as she is cuffing the one hand the man reached for the officers gun and luckily between gordon and the other bystander he was not able to reach it in time but unfortunately during the struggle Gordon's left ankle got broken and he has undergone hospital bills and had to have surgery on his ankle, a plate and 8 screws in the bone which has landen him bed ridden for 6-8 weeks if not longer. In the meantime he has been fired by his job which was his only source of income. As the man was arrested, with 8 felonies and three misdemeanors, In the law enforcement eyes he is a hero for stepping in to help local law enforcement, but in the same token he is loosing every thing he owns. While the criminal sits in jail living off of our tax dollars, free food and free roof over his head. Gordon is down to 20.00 in the bank as of today and bed ridden. We ask that you step up to the plate like gordon did and help with what ever you can so this hero doesn't loose everything he owns. Any donation small or big will help prayers for a speedy recovery is much needed!  Included is a link to the actual video from the hotel.

I salute you for your willingness to get involved, and I hope that a local business will step up with a job for you, after what the other place did. Your former employer should be ashamed.
