In memory of Bethany Root, an agricultural pilot and manager of the Amelia Earhart Airport in Atchison, Kansas, who at the age of 34 tragically passed away in a plane crash on July 16, 2017. Her family is seeking to develop the Bethany Root Memorial Fund to support education, training, and initiatives for girls and women interested in aviation. While Bethany found her passion for flying later in life, her dream was to help young girls and women discover their own passions and foster the courage to pursue them to the best of their abilities. As one of a handful of female crop dusters in the country, Bethany was an inspiration for many during her life and it is our hope she will be able to continue to inspire and live on in future generations of aviators supported through this fund.
