Our friend and colleague Ronald Gruia passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017 in Toronto. He is survived by his loving wife and two sons.
Ronald was many things to many people. He had a day job with Frost & Sullivan as an analyst and consultant. Ronald had an uncanny ability to learn anything and produce deep insight into whatever he worked on. Ronald was among the very best analysts in Frost & Sullivan and was highly respected around the world among peers and clients.
Ronald was far more than this: He was completely passionate about life. He would share his views and deep knowledge about sports, politics and current events. For any of us who were with him, Ronald could wear us down with his reasoning and facts, but he would always listen to other points of view and would smile and enjoy every bit of each interaction with us.
Ronald struggled with illness during the past few years, and fought for each moment of his life. Throughout this time, he continued to devote his energy to his wife and sons. As the incisive and relentless analyst matured into a loving, caring husband and father, the technical diagrams adorning his cubicle walls became covered with the multicoloured drawings and images his sons made for him. And his wedding photo was always front and centre of it all. His family broadened his perspective, adding wisdom to his insight.
Ronald will be missed for so many things. For those of you who didn't know Ronald, reach out to someone who did. You'll gain something from hearing about him. For those of you who did know Ronald, please keep him in your thoughts.
We are establishing this campaign to memorialize Ronald and help support his wife and sons to cover the healthcare expenses Ronald incurred during his illness. The proceeds from this campaign will go directly to his wife to help her in this time of her need.
