Rock's Brain Surgery Fund

I have been friends with the Monroy Family for over 8 years.   Recently, their young son, Rock, has been diagnosed with a Chiari Malformation.  This is a condition in which brain tissue extends into the spinal canal.  It occurs when the skull is too small, which results in pressing on the brain and forces it downward.

The condition leads to a host of symptoms and in Rock's case, he requires serious and invasive brain surgery which is occuring this week.  

The family is based in Las Vegas, NV but the surgery and all follow up appointments are in San Diego, CA, to insure that Rock is seen by the best doctors and specialists available to him.  

Rock is one of my personal heroes.  He has had many serious surgeries in his young life due to being born with the rare syndrome Saethre-Chotzen which is a disorder associated with craniosynostosis.  I've known him since he was 6 months old and with all the challenges he  has faced, he has never lost his sense of joy, kindness and pure love.  He and his parents are true warriors.

100% of the money that is raised will go to cover the medical costs that are not covered by insurance that this family will incur this week.  There will also be required follow up and doctor visits that will require the family to travel to and from San Diego.

These funds will be delivered directly to Peter Ron-Monroy, Rock's father to pay for their outstanding expenses.
