TFLM Marathon - Flood Recovery

I work for the Tobacco Farm Life Museum in Kenly, North Carolina. The Museum is a non-profit 501c3 organization that consists of a 6,000sqft gallery, blacksmith shop, packhouse, homestead, tobacco barn and one-room school house. For the last 33 years the mission of the Museum has been to preserve and present the rural farming heritage and history of North Carolina.
The Museum will be holding a BBQ Cook Off and Rocking Chair Marathon on November 12th, 2016. Representatives from local non-profits and community organizations are welcome to build teams that will rock on-site for 10 hours to raise funds that will assist their organizations. I am working with volunteers at the Museum and patrons to put together a rocking team that will raise money to assist with damages recently incurred from Hurricane Matthew. All donation from the rocking chair marathon will be donated to the Tobacco Farm Life Museum Inc.
The Museum had 1.5"-2" of water throughout the main gallery. Expenses included water removal, carpet cleaning/repairs and additional staff hours to complete clean up. Funding from this GoFundMe account will help the Museum recoup some of these costs.
The Tobacco Farm Life Museum tells the story of individuals who have worked tremendously hard to provide food and shelter to their family and fellow Americans. The Museum tells the story of a culture of hard work, strong faith and deep roots.
