Rock is not dead

Full Metal Rock launched its online presence in 2009.

Our mission statement was and is "Full Metal Rock Dot Com is focused on bringing professional quality entertainment to the rock and metal community. Our website uses music, video, photos, articles, humor, and fan interactivity to bring a new look and feel to rock and metal themed magazines. Most importantly we also offer extensive gear reviews and product tests for what’s new in the retail marketplace for musical instruments, as well as giveaways.

Full Metal Rock is not like your typical monthly magazine, We update our content daily, with a global audience, having national strategic coverage based on staff members locations to each of their local music scenes. We do cover Las Vegas with extra effort, as this is the entertainment capitol of the world.
You will find reviews and interviews of nationally known established artists, although we try to focus on the little guys, who are hitting the pavement in “true do it yourself” fashion with little or no label support. The ones who have that special sound that makes them Diamonds in the Rough"

I (Tim) started out as a writer in the early 2000's, and covering the one thing I loved Rock, and metal music, this was the start of my journey.
I started out writing reviews of albums, movies, and eventually live shows. After progressing to different outlets, and publications, both in print and online, I started photography next, and eventually worked my way up to interviews and video.

In 2009, I decided to start my own website and gather some good friends I had met in my travels.

This was also a family affair, my wife, and daughter got involved and assisted me, as they were also into the one thing we all loved ...The Music. My wife Cindy took to photography and became actually better than me at it, and my daughter Jesse ended up being a whiz at video editing. Along with myself they both got to meet, talk with, and even interview some of their biggest music idols.

Pretty much every day off from my regular job (50 hours plus a week to this day) and all family vacations were consumed and focused on this project, the bands, and the music. I would never change a thing and will always appreciate the friends we made along the way. I say thank you to all that were a part of our team, some have gone on to bigger and better things in photography, public relations, modeling, and even their own current similiar websites.

We had at times up to 10 team members, all free lancing and developing their skills through our site, much like I had leading up to this.

After 10 years of funding this project myself, I have reached a crossroad. Due to financial reasons mostly.
Should I continue to follow my passion and try and save this, or simply let it go.

Having gone through two of the toughest years of my life recently, I lost both of my in-laws, and my mother.

My wife of 29 years left her job to take care of her mom for the past year as she battled and ultimately lost her life to cancer, this pretty much took its toll on us financially and depleted all funds.

The positive is: my wife Cindy is back to work, and our amazing Daughter Jesse got married to her high school sweetheart.

The Website is currently shut down, if you goto the wayback machine on the internet, I am sure you can view it, in its past glory.

I have seen over the years, bands reach out to fans trying to fund: albums, tour equipment repair, and replacement, medical situations, and even travel problems. I always thought, I could never do that. Imagine being in a national or international recognized rock band and asking for fan funding. ...Try running a website that promotes these bands.

To me the best music is raw, and from the heart, and you let it all hang out, and wear your heart on your sleeve. That is why I am here, and letting it all hang out on my sleeve.

Is Rock Dead? No Way! I believe it is alive and well, and just being pushed to the side a bit, as trends and fads push through, but trends and fads are just that.

I am at the crossroads

Should I continue to follow my passion and try and save this, or simply let it go.

If people decide to help and contribute any money, I would like to get our website back online, hire a web developer, archive the old, and have the site done in a more mobile friendly way, that I can maintain and update myself. I would like to simply get some past merch going with an old friend who did our merch before. I would like to bring in some new faces that want to follow their passions and I would love to continue to walk this path, with my wife Cindy, My Daughter Jesse, and some old and new friends.

...It's about the journey, and the people you meet along the way. ....Not the destination. #LifeIsTooShort Love all our rock and metal friends, and our followers. ......Smile, Rock Out, Laugh, Love, Repeat.
