Robotics Trio Needs Your Help!!

When Poplar Springs High School Robotics coach Trey Paul and his two senior students, Joseph Godwin and Bryson Potts, finished eating lunch in Atlanta today, they returned to their rental vehicle to find it had been broken into and all of their personal electronic devices, including 3 laptops, stolen. A police report has been filed and insurance has been notified, but unfortunately, only the damage done to the vehicle itself is covered under the insurance umbrella. Of everything taken, the laptops are the most crucial element for these three because Joseph and Bryson are full-time college students and employees of the Florida Parks Service, on top of their Robotics commitments, while Trey is the high school mathematics and dual enrollment aerospace teacher, Robotics coach, and acting curriculum coordinator. This truly disappointing event occurred in the midst of a school trip to Dartmouth, Massachusetts for the students to compete at the International SeaPerch Competition, an underwater ROV competition in which this group has won regionals 3 years in a row. It took months of fundraising to raise enough money for them to be able to go on this major competition trip because the robotics program is not funded at this Title I school. The community came together in an overwhelming way to make the trip possible. Now, this robbery has dealt major blows to the group both mentally and monetarily. While we can't get their devices back, I hope we will be able to raise enough to replace them. If you are able, please consider supporting this cause.
