Rob recently suffered a serious, life altering medical condition which is going to keep him out of work while he is on the road to recovery. His wife, who is at his side, will miss work as well. Any, and all, assistance that can be provided will help the Trivino family through this difficult time.

RAT spent a career in Army special operations. He was there for us. Let's be there for him.36988152_1549859981211344_r.jpeg

Rob update!
He had cranioplasty a few weeks ago - his neurosurgeon put his skull back together - and after a little setback he is now recovering well. He is doing speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy several times/week in ABQ, and working on rehab exercises daily at home. Recovery from a stroke this severe is long and slow, but we're working at it. He is making small, steady improvements- able to express himself a little bit more, understand more, doing more things around the house.
Rob is grateful for everyone's generosity and support in this difficult time.
Thanks so much,
leigh, rob & the kids

Rob is working hard in rehab and getting a little better every day - nearly walking on his own, feeding himself, doing most things nearly independently. We still watch him closely/help him so he doesn't risk falling until he gets his skull repaired (late April, we hope). I believe he understands most of what is said to him and he is communicating better, though this will be a long road. He will be discharged from the hospital 3/17 and we will transition home and to outpatient rehab, where we will continue to work our hardest and do everything we can to get him better. Thanks again for all of the love and support.

Rob has completed his first week in rehab. He is making small regular improvements. He is starting to move his right arm some, getting stronger with assisted walking, understanding more of what is said to him and communicating a little bit. He is still disoriented and confused, doesn't know what happened to him. He is a fighter and is working hard.

Thanks again for all of your support,
leigh & rob

Rob, the kids, and I would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of support, love, and generous donations.

On Friday, February 8 Rob had a severe ischemic stroke while he slept. We do not know what caused it. He developed complications from cerebral edema that required a craniectomy to relieve pressure on his brain. He has severe deficits from this stroke. He received excellent care at UNM and now has been transferred to Encompass Rehab Hospital in Albuquerque. While some possible causes of this stroke do have a chance of continuing to worsen, this is becoming less likely as time passes. We will work on rest and rehab to our fullest capacity.

With love,
leigh & rob
