Raising the money for bionic arm.

Donation protected

hi my names rob, I'm going to try to keep this as short and sweet as possible.

last year I was in a near fatal motorbike accident, I was 20/21 at the time and ended up spending 3 Months in hospital with serious life threatening injurys, after 3 Weeks I was in induced coma and woke up in my hospital bed to look down and find the doctors have amputated my whole arm.

Words couldn't describe how upset I was, I knew my life had seriously changed at that point, I was in a real bad way trying to deal with the physical and emotional trauma. I'd gone from working hard everyday to quite literally becoming disabled, I still can't comprehend it. One minute I was riding my bike the next I was armless in hospital, it was such an unexpected shock for me.

One minute I'm in the prime of my life and the next I'm on the brink of death, with a scarred up body and down an arm.

After months of counselling and therapy I was released from hospital and tried to live life with the fake arm I was given, the problem is it doesn't move or anything it's just a aluminium counterweight, I'm young, eager and have a new appreciation for life, I feel this prosthetic arm is holding me back so much. (It also rubs on my scars so hurts to wear)

I would love a bionic arm to feel like a normal person again but unfortunately it's not covered by the NHS and there is no way I can find that sort of money myself (£13000).

I did apply for a bank loan but I'm only 22 and not been working for a year due to my injurys so as expected they said no. I have no were else to turn to for finances so out of desperation I'm coming on here.

If I got this arm it would turn my complete world around again, not only would I be able to do day to day tasks again but it would really help with the stress, anxiety and depression which comes with loosing a limb.

I could go back to work to support myself and not have to rely on government handouts, play pool again (I used to be in the local pubs pool team) and most importantly I would be able to live with my daughter she's 3 Years old but can't live with me due to my injuries. I just can't care for her properly anymore. As a father this breaks my heart, I'm missing her growing up and she doesn't understand why she can't be with her daddy all the time.

If you guys could help me out it would be really appreciated, anything will help. you don't realise how much good you will do.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and if I have any money left over or the arm costs less than quoted I will give any excess money to st georges hospital as a thankyou for everything.
