Robby and his wife are now in need to help pay for funeral expenses that will be needed in the near future. Robby Brannon and his family are currently in the fight of their lives against an enemy that does not discriminate. On June 23rd, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer. The cancer has metastasized to his liver, both lungs, both hips, and right femur. He also has tumors pressing on his spinal column that have caused compression fractures. Robby, a beloved member of the City of Goose Creek Fire department, and his family need your assistance, generosity and positive thoughts.

Robby has dedicated his life to the fire service for over 25 years. During his time, he has served with South Greenville Fire Department, Clear Springs Fire/Rescue and Old Fort Fire Department. He is also an Emergency Medical Technician and an instructor with the South Carolina Fire Academy. He has dedicated his life to serving and protecting those in the community in which he served. He has been instrumental in mentoring probationary firefighters to their fullest potential.

The goal of this page is to raise funds for Robby’s family. Together we can ease the financial burden and mental anxiety that arises at times like these and help Robby focus on his battle to defeat cancer. Kayla Brannon, Robby’s spouse, is named as the beneficiary to this account and will withdraw the funds as necessary for the family.

Nothing else has really changed since the last update except we have a possible surgery date.

80% positive Robby's surgery will be Sunday but we are unsure of the time.

We are at a trauma hospital so of course if trauma's come in then his will get pushed back.

If for some reason that happens then they will do surgery Monday.

There is a possible chance of ICU for one day and then back to a normal room or he maybe able to go to a normal room.

Doctors are hoping he will be home within 2-4 days after surgery.

We have started using the hashtag #ThisIsMyFight to post so that we can hopefully keep up with the post better and to see how far we can spread this.

Most people do not know that firemen are 50% more likely to get cancer. Most people see the men and women as heroes and not so much as still being a human.

If you are unable to donate we totally understand but we do ask to share his page and help us spread cancer awareness in the fire service.

Again from the bottom of our hearts we thank each and everyone of you for the donations, shares, and love.

First off again Thank You so much for all the love and support since our worlds have been turned upside down.

The doctors came in today with an update.

The pathology report came back

metastatic melanoma stage 4

This is not curable but it is treatable and the science and studies have came a long way and it has very good outcomes for patients.

This is not a death sentence by no means at all.

This is still a very long road for all of us.

He is in need of back surgery to correct his L5 issues in his lower back and then once discharged he will be receiving treatment out patient. At this time he does NOT need Chemo which is fantastic.

More doctors will be around to talk to us more.

As always we will update everyone as we know.

Robby's brain MRI came back this morning. They did not see anything on his brain. It they did see two spots on his skull. At this time they are not saying that it is part of the cancer but it is two spots they will keep an eye on.

His pain is getting under control a little better everyday.

There is a possibility that he will have to have surgery before we are released but again everything is so unknown until we know the type of cancer.

We are hoping to know the type of cancer by Friday.

At this time if you have any questions or well wishes I ask that you text me or just send Robby a Facebook message.

We can never say thank you enough for all the support everyone has shown us during this horrible time in our life but he is a fighter and we will get through this as one big family.
