Rob Paynter for Trustee (SD61)
Donation protected
Re-elect a committed progressive advocate for public education.
With your help I will be able to continue to work for a quality public education system capable of meeting the needs of every student.
Why Crowdfunding? Two reasons: first, crowdfunding is a fundamentally democratic way to raise donations depending as it does on the power of many making small donations; and second, election financing reforms have placed limits on candidate self-funding, meaning that my past practice of largely financing my campaign personally will not be effective. I need your support to mount a successful campaign.
How will you contributions be used? Recognizing that the Greater Victoria School District (SD61) encompasses six municipalities and two First Nations, it isn't surprising that the costs of a basic campaign can add up quickly. Contributions will be allocated among the following tasks:
Brochure production: $1,500
Mail out postage: $ 750
Advertising: $ 750
Signs: $1,000
TOTAL $4,000
How to contribute? There are several options available including:
· This GoFundMe campaign
· E-transfer to [email redacted]
· Cash or Cheque
Election Finance Regulations
Please note Elections BC regulates contributions to municipal political campaigns. All donors must be a resident of BC, as well as either a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. The maximum personal donations is $1,200, and all donors of $100 or more will be identified on the Elections BC website.
My Goals
During the next 4 years, I will:
· Strive for EQUITY across the district and within our school communities
· Enhance TRANSPARENCY and ACCOUNTABILITY of district and Board decision making
· Refine our STRATEGIC VISION for the district
· Focus on CLASSROOMS and LEARNING SUPPORTS
· Actively engage TEACHERS, STUDENTS, PARENTS and OTHER MEMBERS of our school communities
· Develop partnerships with other levels of government and community organizations on such issues as LAND USE, CHILD CARE and other initiatives aimed at community well-being and improved opportunities for students
· Support HEALTH and WELLNESS initiatives in our schools, including programs addressing mental health and addictions.
