Rob Begley Recovery Fund

$8,260 of $25,000 goal

Raised by 110 people in 18 months
Created December 7, 2017
Some of you may know Rob Begley as a Father, Friend, Family Man or Co-Worker, and some of you may know Rob as Vik Dalishus - one half of the local Hudson Valley Professional Wrestling Tag Team "THE NOW".

On December 1st, Rob was involved in freak accident in a wrestling match that he was participating in, trying to earn some money for his family. Rob had fallen from the top rope of the wrestling ring all the way to the floor. Because of that fall, Rob suffered a devistating severe spiral fracture of his Tibia and a fracture of his Fibula. Essentially breaking his leg and splintering the bones in his leg which will require many surgeries to correct and will leave him immobile for 3 months with a 6 to 8 month projected recovery time. Rob's leg currently is held together with pins and screws and will lead to a grueling recovery of serious rehab, more surgeries, and Rob will be unable to work for at least 6 months.

Rob's wife, recently took a financial leap and left her job so she and Rob can move toward a business venture together. This injury will add a tremendous amount of pressure to Rob's family of 5 and family income. With medical expenses and being out of work around the Holidays this will leave the family in a tough predicament.

We as Rob's friends and of course fans of Vik Dalishus, we want to gather together to help Rob, his wife, and 3 kids have a little easier time while dealing with his surgeries, recovery, missed work, and family time around the holidays.

So please make a donation to the cause to help a man who was just trying to bring a paycheck home to his family while doing his best to entertain us all.

Hello all.. unfortunately we have received a update regarding Rob which is not what we had hoped for. Please read below which are some words from Rob...

March 21st Update: "In addition to a very personal family loss, We received word today that I have re-broken my right leg and will most likely require an additional surgery next week. I'm at a loss for any ability to make sense of it all. I do appreciate all the love sent my families way during this tough time."

March 23rd Update: "I got word today that I will be having surgery on Monday Morning. While looking closer at the CT scan and X-rays, it was determined that not only did I re-break my Tibia, I also broke the metal plate that was inserted in December. I will have a Steel rod put into my Tibia, and the plates will be replaced.

Please help me to share this update and our families Go Fund me page as this setback is something completely unplanned and will be quite costly. Thanks for all the help every single one of you. The love and checking in during this tough time has helped to keep my mind busy for sure. "

Hi everyone. Here's an update from Rob:

So it’s been 2 full weeks since my surgery, here is the update:

I am healing. The surgery was a success, the incision is healing nicely, and my bones have accepted the bone graft, and I was able to be put in a full cast today. I’ll have this for the next 4 weeks, and then hopefully I can move to a walking boot.

Thank you to my wife Caitlin for helping me with every little thing and keeping me from going crazy. Thank you to my family (all of you) for checking in me everyday and helping with the kids. Thank you Rob Rinato for taking me to appointments and letting me talk your ear off on our car rides. Thank you to all my friends for being there in this rough time and keeping my spirits up!

Please share my https://www.gofundme.com/rob-begley-recovery-fund to help support us while I am out of work and dealing with the medical bills that have started to roll in. Any bit helps, and thank you to EVERYONE for your generosity throughout these last 5 weeks. You can also check out 2dropsyleo.com and contribute to our family business. There, you will get the most beneficial Essential Oil products on the planet, and be supporting our business and helping us achieve our goals!

I’m getting better and chipping away at the time I’ll be down. It’s been tough, but it’s only making me stronger!

Thank you all for your generous contributions to helping Robs recovery, medical bills, and living expenses.

Rob so far has had 2 surgeries in 19 days. They were able to clear out all bone fragments while graphing/repairing the fracture in his Tibia.

He also has had 2 plates put in his leg. One is about 8 inches long and is located in his shin, and another smaller plate that is in his ankle.

Rob still has a long road ahead of him, with about 6 months until he’s regained about 75% normality in his leg and well over a year before he’s 100%.

A year is a long time to have to recover and it will surely be a struggle both physically and financially. Please keep sharing as any little donation is greatly needed and appreciated!
