Road Rage Victim - In an instant

Road rage unleashed!

Randy Cottey and his daughter were assaulted by a couple in a road rage incident October 17th. He will have surgery tomorrow on a shattered/broken hand, his other hand is broken, his cheek is broken, and he has stitches above his eye. He has no memory of the incident and is dealing with headaches. These are signs of a concussion. They are pressing charges against this couple. A more detailed account is below.

The need:

Randy is the main breadwinner for their family of 6 and will be out of work for 3 to 4 months. If you can imagine he will need help. Think about not having your hands and you realize all the things you can’t do by yourself: Basically, everything.

They will need to cover their monthly bills. They have 5 birthdays coming up and Christmas.

I am a new friend. I have only met them today. They do not have a support system in this area so I have offered to help.  All donations will go directly to their family and his wife Mary has approved my setting this up for them.

What happened:
Randy and his daughter were followed for about 1.2 miles. His daughter was driving.  The other driver cut them off in a police maneuver so his daughter was blocked inside their car right next to an Elementary school. The other driver got out and approached them and was very angry. Randy got out and explained his daughter was a new driver, even though she hadn’t done anything wrong. She was originally trying to turn left on Meridian from Woodmen and he felt she should be in the “slow” lane, as she was doing the speed limit. The guy assaulted Randy badly, and then the assaulter and his wife saw that his daughter was trying to take a picture of their license plate. The man told her, “you are not getting my license!” and he and his wife attacked her and threw her on our car and attempted to get her to drop/break her phone. His daughter quickly memorized the plate number. His daughter was shook up and roughed up and although terrified to drive again, is physically okay.

Neighbors called 911. Randy went to the ER.
