Josh exudes what it means to live in the moment. He has a lust for life like no other person I know. A father to two perfect little boys, Ethan and Brooks, and the most loving wife in Autumn,  he was truly living his best life. However, at the young age of 32 his life  unexpectedly  took a surprising turn. In September 2018 he was admitted to the hospital for abdominal pain and after a scrutiny of tests, was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer.
He bravely started chemotherapy on October 2nd and was determined to face his diagnosis head on.
He recently completed chemotherapy and underwent his resection surgery this past week. Unfortunately, the cancer was further involved than they had expected and after 14 hours of surgery they removed his colon, a foot of small bowel, gallbladder, spleen, part of his liver, all of the abdominal lining and the omentum. They were unable to remove all of the cancer so they were aggressive with the HIPEC chemotherapy treatment hoping that would help treat the remaining 25% of tumor in his abdomen.

Josh has made it through his surgery but will most certainly have an extremely long road ahead on his road to recovery. He has done everything he can to be optimistic through this grueling process and has wanted to be a voice of encouragement for others along the way. Please keep josh and his family in your thoughts and prayers and offer your support anyway you can. Please also visit his blog to go along with him through this journey.

There are no words. Thank you for your love and support. Autumn and her two beautiful sons will need your continued love and support.

This is the last update from Autumn:
Yesterday, my best friend and the love of my life passed away.
Words cannot even begin to describe what myself, his family and all that loved him are feeling right now. He was the greatest man with the biggest heart and an amazing father to our two sons. For all of those that read Josh's blog, you know that he has strong faith and a firm belief in God and His promises. We know that he is at peace. He will be missed every second of everyday, forever. ❤️

It has been 10 days since Josh was intubated following his resection surgery. 10 days since his family and friends haven’t been able to hear his voice.

He remains stable at St. John in the ICU. He has been unable to make the transfer to U of M still. This past Thursday when they originally wanted to take him via life flight he did not tolerate the transport vent and thus had to remain at St. John’s where he was stable. On Friday he showed signs of improvement on the vent, but the weather has been terrible and they will only transport josh via helicopter due to his critical condition so until the weather improves and as long as he remains stable he will remain at St. John.

On Friday I had a chance to see josh in the ICU. I met some of his care team and got to see Josh’s dad and autumns dad. Many of you may not understand what this family has been going through but please understand their love runs deep. Their faith and hope runs even deeper. It has been a month since josh was in the hospital and since that time he has not been alone. He has had someone by his side the whole time. Whether it’s autumn kissing his forehead telling him stories about their kids or Josh’s dad who has spent countless nights on the recliner next to him telling his son he loves him and updating him on the world of sports happening around him. His sister and mom coming to hold his hand and pray, his in-laws standing by his side, and friends offering their support. Josh hasn’t been alone and that is truly remarkable.

The commute to the hospital is 40 minutes each way from autumns house, this is a trip she makes multiple times a day. She continues to work through this to provide for her family and at the same time be a super hero mom to her two sons. She has never waivered since josh got diagnosed with cancer and continues to fight on without hesitation.

On this Easter Sunday, josh’s sons are unable to spend the day with their dad. The family is unable to fully be together because someone watches the kids and other tends to josh. I ask you please continue to pray and hope for improvement for him. Bring peace to his friends and family that’s hopefully they will all Be reunited again soon.

First let me start by saying, you guys have been simply incredible! To stand behind josh and his family through his recovery has been awe inspiring and thank you so much for that.
We have reached 15k in donations for the Greens and that is something to celebrate! We will continue to press on as this will no doubtably be a very long road.

This morning was a hard morning for Josh. He has remained intubated in the ICU with little to no progress. Please continue to pray as he will likely be transferring to the University of Michigan for continued treatment.

Another update on Josh. He has been in the ICU for almost two weeks and remains intubated and sedated.

He has developed subcutaneous emphysema as a result of the ventilation but hopefully if they can wean the vent that will improve. The lack of improvement and tumultuous postoperative period continues to be extremely difficult on autumn and Josh’s family.

Autumn continues to be by joshs side every step of the way while being a loving mom to her two sons. It is heartbreaking Ethan and brooks have not seen their dad since the surgery as young children are not allowed in the ICU. If she is not by Josh’s side at the hospital she is trying to work and be at home with her sons to make them feel as normal as possible without having their dad around. She is doing it all and staying so incredibly strong.

Please continue to pray for healing and improvement so josh can get better and reunite with his family. Pray for peace and rest for Autumn and Josh’s family as they stand by his side as he fights day and night.
