Help A Hero
On Monday, June 11, 2018, three armed individuals entered the back of a Burger King on Gallatin Pike North just northeast of Nashville, TN. Maurice Farris, a manager of the restaurant, bravely sprang into action, tackling one of the masked robbers and wrestling the gun away. Unfortunately, Maurice was injured during the encounter, resulting in him being transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Maurice was released from the hospital on Sunday, July 1. However, the road to recovery is still continuing. Maurice was released with a bullet lodged near his heart, and it is anticipated that he will need up to another 6 weeks of recovery before he can return to work.
This GoFundMe campaign has been established by classmates and friends of Maurice. Those of us who are lucky enough to know Maurice are well aware of his outstanding character, and his act of bravery to selflessly ensure the safety of others comes as no surprise. Maurice is a shining example of what it means to be caring and kind, and his sense of humor and infectious laughter always manages to brighten everyone's day.

All funds received through this GoFundMe campaign will be delivered directly to Maurice and his family to assist with his recovery, and to assist him and his family with any other expenses that they will incur as a result of this unfortunate situation.
