family lost everything in a fire

The Giertmanis family are friends of mine and New Years Day their Christmas Tree caught fire. This all took place so fast. They were unable to get out the door and with no time to think, just to react, Dzintars jumped out the window and Elana threw their seven month old daughter to him and then Elana jumped. Baby Agnese escaped any injury but Dzintara had an open leg fracture and Elana had to have surgery on her spine and her feet, which both were broken.
No snow to break their fall so was like landing on pavement. Dzintars hopes to be out of the hospital in a matter of weeks but Elana will be there much longer. They have nothing to go home to, rather no home to go to. They have no family here and will need a lot of support to get them into a new place to live and replace the furniture they have lost. People have been generous to baby Agnese. She has a new crib, stroller, clothes, diapers and formula and thanks to the people who made this happen.
