Jason Bessey's Recovery Fund

Friends and family, Jason was involved in a motorcycle accident on October 10th and suffered some major injuries. He was racing in the Vintage Festival at Barber Motorsports Park outside of Birmingham Alabama, and during the race Saturday the engine threw a rod into the transmission locking up the rear wheel at a high speed and he was thrown from the bike. He does have a bleed in his brain and has a drain to control the pressure. He also did break his clavicle and scapula on the left side along with some facial bones and several ribs. His left lung was collapsed and he has been on a ventilator and is heavily sedated. His shoulder injury will require surgery, which they hope to do soon. His injuries are critical and the doctors have advised that his recovery will be a marathon, not a sprint. He is in for a long recovery, BUT he will recover.


Jason and his family live in Okeechobee, Florida and his wife Vanessa is currently at his side. Their boys, Jake and Luke, are home with family while both their parents are at UAB Birmingham. His recovery will be months long and with both Jason and Vanessa not working during this time, insurance and benefits will only cover so much. They will need help covering the living and travel expenses of Vanessa being at his side in Birmingham, as well as insurance deductibles and everyday expenses back home.

Those of you who know Jason and his family know that they will give the shirt of their backs for someone in need.
