My Lifes Dream in Canada

My name is Hugo Rene Castellanos Conde and this is my story. I am from Guatemala City, Guatemala and I am currently 24 years old. I am completing my first year of university at the University of British Columbia in Kelowna, Canada. I want my major to be psychology and plan to complete a graduate degree in forensic psychology after I obtain my bachelors degree. I am asking for help because I am in need and this is my last resort. I have been fighting for the past 6 years of my life in hopes of fulfilling my dreams of leaving my home town and starting a career and life in Canada.
After I graduated high school I started University back home studying Criminal and Forensic Investigation and I dropped out because I realize the sad truth of my country. In Guatemala having a degree does not assure you a future, the only way to succeed in Guatemala is if you know someone with power. Opportunity is not merit based instead, corruption and interpersonal ties dictate success. I only hope to be given the opportunity to prove myself on a fair playing field. I have attempted to get into Canada or the Unites States, through legal and fair process in order to help obtain my goals. I saw an opportunity to get a soccer scholarship in Carl Sandburg College in Chicago, Illinois. I tried to get my visa twice and both times I was denied. After that I tried in Canada with the help of my best friend that studies in the Vancouver campus. That time, I applied for my visa and successfully got it. I began attending the University of British Columbia – Okanagan and was so happy to have an opportunity to finally make my dream true.
This year a number of issues and setbacks have left me unable to pay for my tuition and without raising enough money I will be forced to return back to Guatemala. Sadly my uncle passed away while I was here. It was one of the worst things that has ever happened to me. After that my financial situation was getting worse and worse and I have been trying to get loans to fund my tuition. I was denied here and back home and today all the potential doors seem to be closing. If I do not pay my fees before July of the present year my dream will be over. I will work three jobs this summer if I must and whatever hours I can get during the school year in order to earn and save as much as I can but I simply cannot raise the money fast enough from work alone.
I have always been a person who puts their head down, works hard without complaint but this time that will not be enough. I am not a wealthy person and I also do not like to ask for help but there are times in life that you need to go out of your comfort zone and this is me taking a step out of my comfort zone. The expenses of housing and tuition fees are exactly $32,021 CAD and I would not ask you for one cent more. I ask for this money in order to pay the university and to continue my dream of becoming a forensic psychologist. I need just a little help so I can finally push through the roadblocks I have encountered on my way to the success. I know the value of money after working in Guatemala City for the past 6 years and I know that no one owes me anything. But it would mean everything to me for you to part with any of your hard-earned dollars, however much or little you can give, to help me realize my dream.
