Dear Friends --- personal and professional,
As you may or may not know, nine years ago I was in the process of moving my young family to Santa Barbara, when disaster struck. I was President of Teva Footwear for only a few months when I went out for an evening bike ride. Unfortunately I was hit by a car driven by a young man who just had a learner's permit. Although I was wearing all the proper gear and bike helmet at the time, the impact of the car crushed my head and changed my life forever. I was in a coma for approximately two months, and then awoke to a whole new world --- one with an incredible set of challenges.
This is a true story that just kept getting worse and harder to live instead of better. First, I suffered severe brain damage which left me hemiplegic and in a wheelchair. This is the unimaginable for me since I was once a competitive swimmer, biker, runner, a certified scuba diver and instructor and even a piano player.
Second, the accident affected my children, wife, family and friends in very challenging ways. I'm now divorced, yet I continue to spend as much time as possible with my children. I live completely alone and I spend my days researching on the internet with my computer anything that focuses on brain repair after injury.
I refuse to give up. You see, I'm a competitor, stubborn for life, in love with my former wife and children.
Many people would have not lived through this trauma. I did not die because I chose to live to be with my children, by making an agreement with Jesus Christ, who had warned me that coming back to life on earth would be painful! I have been through years of rehabilitative therapy, HBOT treatments, and I continue to try anything and everything to gain mobility so that I can someday walk again, which for me it means to work again too. It has been very difficult for me and my caregivers to transport me for these visits. With transportation of my own, I could watch my children participate in sports, track, shooting and drama. I need your help to make this dream a reality.

I am asking you to look into your hearts and see if there is any donation you can make to help me. I'm not done raising my kids and not ready to give up hope. I will never surrender, even if abandoned by my wife who replaced me with my doctor, so as soon as I can fight my neuroinflammation in a medical way I plan to get back to work and reunite with my children.
