We are raising money for a dear friend of mine, Tatiana. She was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s at the young age of 30. Anyone who knows her personally knows that she has been suffering with tremors for quite some time. As her symptoms progressed throughout the years, Tatiana and her loved ones became truly concerned, resulting in further testing. The idea of her having a “real” disease seemed unfathomable, yet was becoming more real and more difficult to deny in everyday life.
She is truly one of the most kind, loving souls I’ve been blessed to come across. Her love for nature and the earth is a inspiration to anyone that knows her. Tatiana has helped so many and will always because that’s just who she is. Upon diagnosis, Tatiana had and still is going through the ups and downs of the acceptance stage. Realizations like; “I just want to be able to ride a bike, go for a swim... but I can’t.” These are some just of the activities that most of us are fortunate enough experience. Tati, on the other hand has not been able to ride a bike or go for a swim in a long time. We tend to lose sight that these everyday acts are in fact gifts. Tati recognizes that. She is strong in her heart. She remains optimistic, positive, hopeful and bright. She has the spirit of a warrior, not a victim. She even still believes that everything happens for a reason and will continue to live her life practicing gratitude.
The reason why we’ve set a goal for 15,000.00 is for Tatiana to receive the treatment and follow up visits that she seeks. She would also love to visit her family in Colombia at some point during this difficult time. She hasn’t been able to get “home” in 6 years. With our help she hopes to start her healing process at The UltraWellness Center located in Lenox, Massachusetts. They believe in addressing the underlying causes of disease, which is also known as Functional Medicine. By shifting the traditional “disease- centered” focus of medical practice to a more patient- centered approach, functional medicine addresses the WHOLE person, not just an isolated set of symptoms. This will allow Tatiana to have an initial consultation where they cover everything from an extensive health background, to innovative lab testing and a nutrition plan, together they create a plan. These are a team of board certified physicians that have extensive training in Functional, Integrative and Nutrional medicine. This is not “woo woo” this is the real deal. They have a phenomenal reputation and have helped thousands of patients reach optimal health. I’ve attached a link to their site directly. Tatiana, her loving husband Ben, their family, myself and our friends support this direction of healing whole heartedly. We believe in Tatiana and we believe in miracles.
