Rideau Heights Junior Roller Derby is mid-way through our first project: a 12-week Intro to Roller Derby camp for girls ages 8-12. We have had a fantastic time with our first group of 13 skaters and are hoping to run a second camp to build on the skills and momentum that we have started this spring.
One of the most important aspects of this camp to us, the coaches, is that it is financially accessible to all interested skaters, so via community fundraising, we have been able to purchase all equipment for our skaters and offer the camp at no cost. We hope to be able to continue to do so into the future, and that's where you come in!
With $1,500, we can buy skates and pads in larger sizes as our current skaters grow, insure the kids for next season, and hopefully bring in a few new skaters to grow our team in the 2018-2019 season.
If we exceed our goals financially, or find we have extra funds, they will be rolled into extras like personalized t-shirts for the kids, snacks at practice, water bottles, bags for gear, etc.
