Ride happily ever after

Todd and I moved to Ocala Florida two and a half years ago to replant a church.  As I was searching for ways to become active in my community, I found mountain biking.  In Florida you might ask? There aren't any mountains in Florida!  But there is a wonderful mountain bike community.  God has blessed me with the experience to become a part of that commuity in more ways than one.  Let me tell you how:

I am the Ocala Mountain Bike Patrol Coordinator.  As patrollers we assist in medical and mechanical emergencies while riding on the bike trails.
This is not even half of OMBA's bike patrols.
As coordinator I set up classes in CPR and First aid as well as organize patrollers in the practice of extradition of injured bicyclist, trail familiarity and group cohesion.  I schedule volunteers who often have the opportunity to assist at special events, such as races, festivals or large group rides.  This is attendees of National Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day in Ocala this year.
This position also includes being a board member of the Ocala Mountain Bike Association.  I attend monthly meetings and all so work with other volunteers on Trail maintenace Work days.

As of last month I became the LIV Ambassador in Ocala, Florida.
Our local bike shop felt I met the criteria to become an ambassador so they nominated me and  I accepted.  I then had to apply to see if I was what LIV was actully looking for to represent their product.  After consideration by the Giant/LIV bicycle company I was granted the opportunity to become a LIV Ambassador.  What all this means is that LIV woman's bicycling will give me the opportunity to encourge other women into and excel at bicycling.  It will also enlarge my community of contacts
If you look closly at the pictures on the ambassador's page you'll see I am the oldest one in that whole group!  What a wonderful encouragement that was for me.

Imagine being on a bike ride that lasts at least an hour if not two.  Sometimes hour long car rides to get to the trail you want to ride.  When there is plenty of time to talk and get to know these wonderul individuals.

And I don't see these people just one time.  I get to ride with them on a weekly if not daily basis.  The friendships I'm making gets us included to lunches, dinners, cookouts and 3 days festivals together. We might even set at a Bike Patrol tent for hours talking about...........you name is but God does come into our conversations.  Everyone knows I'm a Pasors wife so I get to answer lots of questions and misconceptions people have about God, His church and Christians in general and that"s why I'm there.

This is where I need your help! When I first startd riding we bought a beginner's level bike.

One of the advantages of me becoming an LIV ambassador is that I get a LIV specfic bike at a much reduced cost.  Once I sell my current bike I still won't have enough to buy the LIV bike that is suggested I ride.

This is where  you come in.  If you could help with the cost I would really, really appreciate it.  I promise to continue serving my community in this unique way and reaching out to those that are put in my path.

In the goal I've suggestd above is the cost for a bike carrier extention.  Which will allow me to carry more bikes and more people.  It's amazing how overhearing a conversation from the back seat can lead to more questions and more discussion with in the group.
Thank you for supporting me.
