Travel on a Greener Planet "Ad Infinitum"

After a great amount of personal investment, both time and money, my purpose to contribute to a greener economy and a better-preserved planet needs a real boost in business flow, as digital platform passenger transportation (e.g., Uber service) is a low-cost and difficult to sustain business, unless I'd be using diesel cars. The only way out is really to expand the fleet on budget financing, so the business becomes sustainable.

Thank you all, environmentally minded people. And please, visit Lisbon. Along the years we haven't overindustrialized our seaside garden. That's probably the main reason why our economy is not as strong as most developed countries. Although I will implement the project along the funding, I hope to fully complete in three months time. First the LPG (20K), then the other Leafs (40K each). Please read along.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After almost one year of working day in and day out on a diesel car, like most vehicles on this business, I felt I'd need to change. In 2009 I had changed my gas bike for a Vectrix electric scooter because of my environmental peace of mind, and now I was driving all day long on such a dirty power source. My employer at the time (a wise man that can put 2&2 together) didn't want to indulge my environmentalist urges, because the investment on electric cars was too big to be economically viable.

After almost 2 years down the road, I proved him to be right. When he denied to consider buying an electric car, I jumped into it without giving too much thought. The simple numbers seemed to work and I didn’t think twice before investing all my body and soul (time and money) on this belief, on this conviction that the ocean is made of many drops. Replacing a diesel car for an electric one is just one drop in the ocean. But being a partner to electronic platforms for passenger transportation (e.g., Uber) in Portugal, implies a lot of fix responsibilities that come with funding and operating a company. Just the cars themselves have a huge initial cost when compared to gas and diesel cars.

Having said this, I made it to manage a 2-car fleet (two Nissan Leaf 30kW/h, 2nd Gen.) that hardly pays itself, let alone paying for every cost of doing business. Despite my personal investment, I couldn’t do it without financing car acquisition on regular markets. What I intend to do is to expand the fleet with 3 new, 3rd-generation Nissan Leaf (40kW/h), and an LPG car (internal combustion engine running on Liquid Petroleum Gas) so the company is capable of doing long trips on an environment friendly car. In case anyone doesn't know, although cars running on LPG consume about 20 to 30% more than regular gas cars, LPG itself emits 50% less CO2 when compared to gasoline. Let alone the particulate emission that is almost none, especially when compared to diesel.

What I propose to Green Economy investors is an annual 3% mean interest rate, over some expected 10 to 20 years. I know it's not particularly appealing, but it’s not a charity rate over such a long period of time. I'm not really looking at big money making. Rather, I'm trying contribute to further development on trends that may help us all go deeper into Green Economy and environmental protection. It's not the planet that needs to be saved, we humans do. Having said that, I know that money doesn't come for free. That's why I propose a mean interest rate of 3%, that is, on an expected repay rate of 12K€ a year (plus or minus 10%).

This “mean” reference pertains to the value of a 12K€ repay per year, plus or minus 10% (the interval from 10.800,00€ to 13.200,00€; 12K€ +/- 10%) payed monthly, and should be updated yearly according to EU's financial institutions on economic growth statistics. For a repay below the convention mean (12K€ x 0.9 to 1.1/year), the yearly interest rate shall be of 5%, and faster recapitalization (more than the mean reference 12K/year) a 4% rate.

You should know that my education is not on economics but on psychology, a human-concerned science approach. That's me. But I recon the value of work and investment. Any surpluses that allow for faster repay should also compensate for stakeholders' commitment. 4% isn’t much, but I think this business won't allow for a full repay under 10 years.

For anyone interested on this campaign that may visit Lisbon or Portugal, I’d love to meet and take you to places. Notice that, for now, I’m not deep into tours and guided visits, although I can arrange for a tour guide if needed. If you like to plan your visits and sites of interest, I’m more than happy to show you around. In the future, I hope to extend this business to rural tourism regarding wine and other traditional products. Hope it can be achieved within the next dozen years.

If your contribution to the project is significant, I’ll make sure you get a pleasant surprise. Personally. Portugal is a country of many wonders. What I can promise to all those who contribute at least with 1K€, is that we’ll arrange for lower prices than any passenger transport platforms can do. And you get personalized service.

Thank you very much to all my environmentally concerned friends, hope we can keep on going in our beloved planet. Or as my company’s motto says:

“Moving you Ad Infinitum”
