Rickle’s Recovery

This is Rick with two of his seven grandchildren. He is in the battle of his life with necrotizing pancreatitis, with a projected YEAR LONG RECOVERY ahead of him. He’s had four hospital stays since June 6th and there’s a good chance he will need surgery. He also now has pancreatitis induced diabetes because his pancreas simply isn’t working and he’ll be on a feeding tube for a while. His medical expenses are already astronomical and will continue to increase.

Pancreatitis is an incredibly painful medical condition that completely incapacitates even the strongest person, which for those of you who know Rick it’s hard to imagine anything taking him down. It was very difficult to see him in a hospital bed asking to not even be touched because of the pain, especially because he gives the best most comforting hugs. His wife Jan is a real life superhero working hard to bring in money with the food truck they run (Rickle’s) while attending to the needs of Rick who is too weak to do much of anything.
Rick dedicated much of his life to the needs of children as a social worker and then to anyone who needed counseling as a therapist. I (Bryan) personally know of many people who have told me that he saved their life. Donating to his recovery will show him what it’s like to be on the receiving end of charity and love and it will certainly reduce the load on Jan and relieve the undue stress on medical costs.
