Friday August 25, 2017 the "Preperation Day" (Luke 23:54) This is the official Facebook page for our beloved Rick Shorter; clarification and current status: On Tuesday August 22, 2017, Rick suffered a Basilar Artery Stroke and was rushed to Providence Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Washington. After analysis and diagnosis, preparation was quickly made to remove the blood clot and restore blood flow. This procedure was successful. The neurological assessment which followed, was also successful. However, shortly thereafter, it was observed within 5 to 6 hours after the procedure, there was a decline is his responses. Rick is now on a ventilator and is in critical condition in the ICU. This particular kind of stroke/blood clot has a 70 to 80% mortality rate. The physicians and neurologists have recommended "Comfort Care, "however, we are still praying for a miracle and using Gods' natural remedies, singing and music therapy, but most importantly, prayer! Rick was anointed on Wednesday, August 23, by Pastor Jim Anderson and the elders of the Newport, Washington Seventh Day Adventist Church. Will you join us in prayer, that if it be God's will, he will give us a little more time. ( 1 John 5: 14-15 ), "But if not", ( Daniel 3:18 ), we will thank him and praise his Holy Name for the life and blessing of our precious, Rick Shorter. We will serve him by helping to prepare all for the imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We will post daily updates on Rick's condition and prognosis.
