Richard Michael's Medical Fund
He and his family came to our house for Thanksgiving and ended up with a spiked fever, and was taken to a near by hospital for more tests and pokes and meds. Everything they have tested him for comes back negative, To GOD be the glory. However, he is still a very sick little boy. His smile and spunk have taken a back seat, he is weak, in pain, just not normal at all.
Richie's parents (our son Joel and Stacy) are with him constantly, and Daddy has had to call off work, and his paychecks are being affected. As you know, it's not only hard on the patient, but hard on his parents as well..no work, no sick time or vacation time, extra expenses continue...eating out, travel expenses, parking garages, back and forth to see the other 4 children, and expenses that insurance does not cover.
Would you prayerfully consider making a contribution of any amount to help this family out? ANY thing would be appreciated and used only for on going expenses.
I am Richie's grandfather and I approve this message, and I think you in advance for anything you can do.
God bless you, and please, above all else pray for Richie, for answers, and for his family.
Recently Richie's Daddy had an accident at work. He drives a semi dump truck hauling sludge from gas wells. It is still unclear what happened but Joel woke up with the truck on it's side on a narrow old country road in the mountains. He suffered a slight concussion and some bumps. He was taken by ambulance to the local ER, and was put on unpaid time off until a full investigation was done. He is to return to work soon but all this time off is without pay.
Christmas is coming soon, and with medical expenses, traveling to and from the hospital, medicine expense and more, this a rough time in their home, to say the least.
We are re-opening this account and praying that you will pray and give some thought to making Christmas a little easier for this family of 2 adults and 5 children. Any size donation would be appreciated and used wisely.
Merry Christmas to all and God bless you.
as I type this Richie is in Ruby Hospital with very low white blood count. He has had one transfusion and may be getting another. He was given platelets as well and had an allergic reaction to them. His parents, Joel and Stacy are at his side, and taking turns going home when they can to care for the other 4 children.
Richie has gone through a new kind (for him) chemo treatment that the chemo staff calls, "the knock out punch" and he also has rotavirus/common cold, so this explains to a point his low blood cell count.
Yesterday, I did a video chat with him and he was happy, dancing around his room with his IV pool, laughing, teasing and being a silly, strong little boy.
Doctors warned his parents that this sort of thing would could happen after this round of chemo. But if the warning it is a very scary thing for him and his family. He was very scared going through the reaction yesterday.
Joel has taken off work to be with his son, and to be able to help care for his other 4 and his wife..giving her a break from the hospital routine. The cost of traveling and eating out is catching up to them. We are continuing this campaign to help the out..with prayers, support and financial assistance. Unless we personally have been through this sort of crisis in our personal lives, we really have no clue what all this is about.
God has been faithful to Richie and his family..Richie has come this far because of the prayers of so many who believe that God still does miracles..and our Richie is one of them. God has been faithful to provide all the needs to his family as well...but as we know, the well doesn't go on forever and ever.
We still need your help.
If you can like and share this, it would be appreciated and any financial donation is appreciated as well..more than we can express. Thank you for all you, for every prayer said on Richie's behalf..we do appreciate them all.
For Richie and his family..
In May Richie will be getting a new kind of chemo treatment. The medical staff call it the "knock out punch." This will be tough, rough and new side affects. Some of them can be very critical. Please continue to pray for Richie and his family. We are asking God to protect him from ALL side affects and that he will continue to do even better than he is now.
We are keeping this fund going to help with incoming medical bills and travel expenses to and from his treatments. Daddy is back to work, but he never knows when he might have to take a day off to be with Richie. AND, the Make a Wish foundation has granted a big wish for Richie and they are sending Richie, and his family to Disney in the early Fall. Most expenses will be taken care of, but spending and food money will be needed. When is the last time you took a family of 7 on a trip like this and bought the food? ;-) Please like and share this page and let's keep this going for Richie.
Richie's Great Grandfather is a woodworker and he made a beautiful treasure box for Richie to put letters, cards, gifts, toys that people from everywhere have sent to him. Someday when Richie is older his family wants to share his journey with A.L.L with him and he can know and see how many have prayed for him and touched his life in some way..big or small.
We are all grateful for everything that each one has donated and sent, but most importantly for your prayers. God bless you.

UPDATE ON RICHIE: he came through the bone marrow extraction well yesterday..the oncologist came in with her team and talked to us along his parents and aunt. She answered every question we had..we are very impressed with this doctor. Today, Tuesday, she will be back to give us a diagnosis. Your continued prayers and support are needed. Joel, Richie's father is on the family medical leave, rent is due, bills still need to be paid, and today, their home owner is selling their home. We appreciate everything, every prayer, every donation. Please continue to pray for Richie, his parents, and his siblings..two are with a friend so they can attend school, baby Aubrey is with us Gramma and Papa, and big brother is with his grand mother. Separation is not easy on any of them. God has a plan and a purpose and HIS grace is sufficient.
Has he been tested for Lyme disease?
Praying for healing for Richard and peace for the family.
