Hello,
I'm trying to raise funds to be able to gain selection onto the 2016, Australian Olympic Open Water Marathon swim team.
I have been on the national team since 2009, but was dropped earlier this year, the result of ranking 4th in Australia. I used all of my savings to self-fund a 10 km World Cup series with the goal of becoming the first Australian to win it. This year, I have won 2 World Cups and also placed 2nd and 4th, giving me 3rd in the overall series. As a result of this success, the national team have now decided to re-select me for another shot at Olympic selection.
Unfortunately, I have had to use all of my savings on World Cup travel. I would love to have your support in making my dream come true of representing Australia in the 10km Open Water Marathon at the Olympics in 2016.
The funding will provide me with the recovery tools, of massage and physiotherapy, as well as pool entry and travel costs to the National Championships. I will put in the hard yards - early 5 am mornings, 80 kms of swimming a week (over 10 sessions) for my goal of Olympic success.
