Rocking Horse Ranch Annual Campaign

Again this year, a generous, anonymous donor has challenged us to a $10,000 Matching Gift Campaign! Last year, thanks to you all, we were able to raise $20,000 for Rocking Horse Ranch Therapeutic Riding Program. Please help us do so again this year, and once again, Make Our Horses Smile!

Founded by Eileen Van Houten in 1991, Rocking Horse Ranch Therapeutic Riding Program is a not-for-profit organization that provides equine assisted activities and equine assisted therapy to children and adults with a variety of physical, cognitive, and psychological disabilities. Students who participate in the program come from Pitt County as well as 13 surrounding counties in eastern North Carolina.    

The ultimate goal of the program is to improve each rider's quality of life so that they can become more independent, productive and active members of the community. We are a member organization of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATHIntl).

We're incredibly grateful for our supporters, donors, participants, and volunteers! Without your ongoing support, Rocking Horse Ranch would be unable to continue to provide equine assisted activities and therapy to the Eastern North Carolina region. Over 70% of our operating budget comes from donations, grants, and fundraising.  All of our lessons fees are subsidized, and nearly 1/3 of our students ride on a full scholarship that we provide.  Over 100 students attend weekly lessons throughout the year, and your generosity makes all of this possible!
