Friends, family, and McGregor class of 1998 are asking that you be a part of a Rhett Revolution. Rhett Hering, of McGregor, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 28, 2015. Yet his spirit lives on in our hearts. Memories that we cherish of Rhett are filled with love, kindness, joy, and grace; Rhett's legacy. He was always there to help, offer encouragement, show compassion, and enable others to succeed.
So, it is fitting, as a lasting memorial, that a scholarship be established in his name. Many have asked how they could contribute to a meaningful effort in loving memory of Rhett. In answer to this, friends, family, and Lorna's first class from 1998 are establishing the Rhett Hering Revolution Scholarship. We are hoping to raise enough money that the funds can be placed in a trust to create a lasting memorial for Rhett. The first scholarship will be awarded to the graduating class of 2016.
We are all so very grateful to each of you for the love and support you have already shown. If you are further able, please consider donating to Rhett's memorial scholarship. You may do so either online here or at McGregor High School (make checks payable to the Rhett Hering Revolution Scholarship). To donate at the high school, you can do so in person or mail cash or a check to: Rhett Hering Revolution Scholarship, McGregor High School, c/o Karen Tucker, PO Box 356, McGregor, Texas 76657. All money donated on this site will also be directly deposited into an account managed by McGregor ISD.
