Help our RGMS Elementary team get to DI Global Finals in Kansas City, MO
For the last 6 years Robert Goddard Montessori School (RGMS) has participated in the Destination Imagination (DI) creative problem-solving program (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math based program). We started with an amazing school coordinator and a couple of teams. Our wonderful coordinator left the school and the parents stepped up to fill the coordinator’s roll as well as manage the now growing number of teams.
This year we had 4 teams. Our elementary team is the only team from our school who made it to the State Tournament on March 30th, 2019. This particular team took 1st place 2 years in a row at Regionals to make it to the State Tournament in 2018 and again in 2019.
This year, they took 2nd place at the Maryland state competition out of 21 teams in their category, and qualified to compete at the DI Global Finals in Kansas City, MO May 22 - 25. This elementary team consists of 5 kids and 2 amazing Team Managers (David Lansing and Matt Kweskin). To attend, we first have to pay $5600 in registration fees. The deposit ($1500) is due by April 12, 2019, with the balance due by May 1, 2019. In addition, there is approximately $3200 in travel and $4800 in lodging and meal costs. Our Team Managers are responsible for registering the team and therefore we need to provide the funding for them to complete the registration process and secure our travel and lodging.
