My name is Janice, and I am 20 years old and currently a full time student at a 4 year all women's university.
This GofundMe is to raise money to fly my mom to Germany to meet her biological father.
After nearly 50 years of searching for her father, my mom finally found him through a facebook search. A now 80 year old man suffering from COPD ( a terminal lung disease) who currently resides in western Germany. This discovery not only lead to meeting her father but finding an entire new family she has never known. My mother now Skypes with her father on a regular basis , but the reality is that the Atlantic ocean is separating two people that need to meet each other.
My mother has provided my brother and I with all that we could ask for; a loving,stable, and supportive home. She has a career she is immensely proud of and works tirelessly to make sure her family has what they need.In addition she has provided me with an education, an education that requires large payments on student loans. Due to this, the room for airfare funds to go meet her father are just not there.
As my mother's father ages, and continues to deteriorate in health, the window of time to meet him face to face is getting smaller and smaller.
All the money raised from this campaign will be used to cover airfare to fly my mother in and out Germany this upcoming March ( I will be on a school trip in Amsterdam and plan on meeting with her after).Any additional funds raised will be used for anything needed during her trip (rental car, hotel, etc)
