Restore Homes Hit By Hurricane Otto

(Español abajo) The people of Upala, Costa Rica lost almost everything when Hurricane Otto inundated their homes with water. We want to help restore the homes they have lost.

Donations from the Red Cross have been pouring in to replace some of their clothing, food and other items but many were left without any place to put these donations other than the floor. Their closets, beds, kitchen cabinets and more were all ruined.

From our friends in Upala we received these images -- the streets filled with the contents of entire homes.

With your donations we can help some of these empty and damaged houses become homes again. We will use your funds from this campaign to provide the victims of Hurricane Otto with new kitchen cabinets, beds, closets and other things they have lost.

We are Custom Furniture Costa Rica , a small family-owned business in the Central Valley. We specialize in custom home furnishings, remodeling and repairs -- just the work needed in Upala.

We will provide these families with practical solutions, like custom-designed bunk beds for kids rooms and creative closets for small spaces, so they can move on from the disaster.

We want to work as quickly as possible to help stabilize the lives of these families and children who have lost so much. Our hope is to begin delivering new furniture to our neighbors in Upala after the first of the year.

To do that we need to begin collecting funds now so that we can purchase the materials and begin building right away.

We will be incredibly grateful to you for giving us this opportunity to help our friends and neighbors. Like many in the Central Valley, we took donations to the Red Cross the day after the storm hit. 

But we realized that day the greatest thing we have to give is our work in custom furniture and repairs. Please help us reach our goal so that we can restore the homes of hurricane victims in Costa Rica.

La gente en Upala Costa Rica perdio casi todo con el paso del huracan Otto y nuestra pequeña empresa, Custom Furniture Costa Rica, quiere con la ayuda de ustedes abastecer algunas necesidades tales como alacenas, closets y camas para que nuestros hermanos tengan donde dormir, guardar sus alimentos y su ropa.

De antemano les agradezco mucho la ayuda que nos puedan brindar para devolver a estas familias un poco de lo que perdieron a causa del huracan.
