Build the ReRunner App

The ReRunner app will facilitate the return process by being the intermediary between the consumer and the retailer—providing an easy, efficient way to make returns before the return policy deadline. This benefits the consumer by putting more disposable income back in their pockets, and more valuable still, ReRunner eliminates the hassle of customer service lines, giving consumers back their most valued commodity-- time.  

ReRunner will tap into the pre existing on-demand transportation workforce, and implement a staffing model constituted primarily by at-will contractors responsible for picking-up and making the returns, and little physical space would actually be needed. Drivers will experience a flexible, opt-in income opportunity that requires little in-person interaction and retail store operating hours (no late nights required). By simultaneously addressing the needs of the individual consumers, the customer experience strategies of leading retailers, and by providing flexible income options for Runners, ReRunner will efficiently and effectively manage the right-hand side of the customer continuum. 

ReRunner also provides a benefit to the retailer by getting returned goods back into sellable inventory faster, increases customer loyalty, and provides meta-data on consumer purchasing and return habits. A study published in MIT's Sloan School showed the "a satisfactory product-return experience can lead to increases in customer's' future purchases and referrals and in the profit they yield for the company" (Petersen & Kumar, 2010). An easy customer service experience and return process can not only lead to stronger customer loyalty, but increased future spending.
