Ok. Khalil doesn't really have a blood bank account. But, we really do love sci-fi.

In case it wasn't clear, it's because Science Fiction allows people to see their flaws and sorrows and their successes and joys in ways they can be too close to see in reality. Science Fiction probes philosophy and morality in ways other genres are too familiar to accomplish. At its best, Science Fiction can define humanity.

Unfortunately, like we said, as people of color, all too often we aren't  represented in this genre. The world being what it is right now, it's more important than ever for our humanity to be included in these definitions...

So, us, René Johnson, Khalil LeSaldo and Samuel James are making a short, sci-fi film to be included in Damnationland 2018 and later submitted to multiple film festivals!

Look, even people who have never been to London have an expectation of what London is like because they saw it in a movie. It's probably not an accurate expectation, but it sticks around and it settles in and it's the same for people. If people of color continue to be primarily portrayed as criminals in movies and TV, then some people will have a certain, inaccurate expectation of us. This is why representation matters and why your help in making this film is so incredibly important to us.

...But that is not the subject of this short film. This is a psychological, sci-fi thriller in the vein of The Twilight Zone or The Outer Limits... or, as we've been saying to ourselves, "We're gonna put the 'Black' in Black Mirror."

Please help. It really will mean the world to us.

Synopsis:

In a world where time travel is as ubiquitous as the internet, a young man struggles with his perception of reality.
