SHOW SEASON IS HERE! Are you competing on the hunter/jumper, dressage, or eventing circuit in the Pacific Northwest this summer? I’m a broke as a joke amateur photographer that plans to spend my summer snapping pics of equestrians and their pony partners in Washington state.

I don’t charge for my photos, but I always appreciate donations! I’m hoping to buy a new-to-me camera body by the end of summer, since the Nikon D40 I’m shooting with is over a decade old.

Want to check out some of my work? I've got a dedicated photography website for you to peruse! Want to request a private photoshoot or know of a show that I should check out? Shoot me a message through the Two Hearts One Oxer Facebook page!

I can honestly say without any doubts that Saturday @ the Washington State Horse Park was THE BEST photography outing I've had thus far! The two hour drive out to Cle Elum was beyond worth it; the Horse Park is a huge, seriously drool worthy facility. I legit got lost in the woods at one point, that's how big it is.

Typically I come back from one of these day trips with 20-40 photos worthy of posting to my website... this time I couldn't choose and I ended up with a record breaking 83 PHOTOS that made the final cut.

Want to see some seriously shiny ponies and a lot of very tall trees? You can check it out here:

On Friday I headed up north to beautiful British Columbia to take some pictures at Tbird. I loved it so much that I brought a friend out on Sunday to watch the 1.30m-1.40m Grand Prix! So. many. fancy. ponies.

If you've never seen Thunderbird in full swing, you're missing out! I counted at least FIVE ARENAS running. And all of them had that to die for fabric footing that I love so much... There were so many options, it was hard to figure out which arena I should be photographing!

If this is how Tbird kicks things off, I can't wait to see what the rest of the season brings us!

Dear hunter horses/riders: how are you all so BEAUTIFUL? Hunters might not be my thing, but do you know what is? ALL OF THOSE GORGEOUS BRAIDS.

Last Sunday I found myself down at one of my equestrian community's favorite local venues (the Evergreen Equestrian Park) for the WSHJA 2018 Spring National Hunter competition. Taking photos of fancy horses is always a great way to spend a morning.

Lately I've been dabbling in close up photos of the horses while they're on course. I'm loving how some of these shots are turning out!

What's an eventing derby, you ask? Good question! This weekend I was down at Aspen Farms in Yelm, where riders galloped around an arena filled with a mixture of show jumping and cross country fences. Did you compete in novice level or above? I guarantee I got pictures of you!

Top photos of the day are up @ http://photos.twoheartsoneoxer.com/2018/03/26/march-25-2018-aspen-farms-eventing-derby-100pm-530pm/
