Replace Milky Moo's Stolen Bench

Milky Moo's benches were stolen. This money will help Lisa replace the stolen benches.

"Our dreamy benches were stolen last night. This is their story and, I guess, mine. Fairly soon after opening Smooochie’s I scraped together enough money to buy some nice benches. I didn’t want those yucky wooden ones that had to be painted every year and when you sat in them after a few years you were pretty sure you were going through them! Nope. Didn’t want those. Got some very nice ones that lasted almost 12 years. Early on I was able to sit outside and make my to-do lists and do a ton of thinking on how I was going to get enough people to walk through that door so I could pay my employees and vendors. Some of my best plans came from my time on those benches. I’ve sat and visited with friends and family who knew they’d have to come to Moo’s to see me….first few years it was almost impossible to catch me at home. Those benches have been in pictures with sports teams celebrating, classes who just enjoyed a field trip, young ladies waiting to see if they made the cheerleading squad, first dates, engagement photos, cruise ins, fall festivals, fundraising events, you name it. They’ve been a part of it. Heck, I even had a young man ask to borrow one to use to propose to his girlfriend because they had their first date and Moo’s and sat outside on the bench talking and fell in love there. Yeah. They were more than just benches. But some piece of crap stole them last night. Now you have not just my benches, but my pity. You will never know how amazing it feels to be a part of something like Moo’s. You’re never going to know how incredible it is to put everything you have into something with the hopes it succeeds. You’re never going to see the smile of a child as you hand them an ice cream cone and for them right then, all is right with the world. You’re never going to have a young child say to you “Thank you for building this!” or have them run into your business and have them hug you. You’re never going to be a part of a downtown community with people who operate their business or work another job and in their “spare” time (that’s a laugh) organize events for the people of the community to enjoy and hopefully fall in love with the downtown area as we have. You’re never going to know how incredible it is to have a family who takes their kids out for dinner and choose to spend their hard earned dollars at your restaurant. They have countless other choices and they picked Moo’s. You’re never going to have a daughter or son come in and tell you that when their parent was living their last days they couldn’t eat anything except they wanted a chocolate shake or a scoop from Moo’s. You’re never going to hire an employee who was afraid of their own shadow and see them grow into someone who can run a restaurant. You’re never going to have 30+ people show up for work everyday and help you live your dream. You’re never going to know the fun, excitement, challenge, stress, scariness of being one decision away from not being able to pay your bills and that means 30+ people don’t get a check next week. The fact that you are a thief tells me you have no chance of having this kind of life. Enjoy those benches or the few dollars you get when you sell them. I’ll get more and those of us who get it, will enjoy them in the proper way. For a short time I’ve allowed myself to be angry and when I'm angry enough.....yes I cried as I was driving home from Montgomery. But I’m onto bigger and better things! I spend my days surrounded by amazing customers, employees, peers, family and friends." - Lisa
