$265 of $1,000 goal

We are raising money to help with the expenses for the memorial and to help clean up one of her favorite places on earth.  Her home in Mount Tremper.

Remy Dios, a forty year resident of the Woodstock area, passed away at the age of 72.  Her life's journey began in Larchmont, New York, with her given name of Wendy Daniels.   A letter from 1984 from her mom, Diane,  praised her daughter for "being a warm and loving human being, with a great sense of humor."   The letter also praised her daughter for being a "very good mother, raising twins, as a single mom, during a violent and inflationary era".

Wendy named her twins Doug and Jennifer and a few years later decided that she was more of a Remy Dios and legally changed her own name.  She helped guide her children's journey through adulthood with their lives in Manhatttan, and then Bloomfield, NJ. During this time she started her life long passion for writing and reading.

Remy found her true home in 1987 when she moved up to Mount Tremper, New York near Woodstock, There she became a long time member of the Birds of A Feather drumming group in Woodstock.  An artist working in many mediums (writing, drawing, painting, music or many different combinations of things), which lead to the creation and facilitator of the Epiphany Medicine Show (an ongoing art, insight and performance piece).  She truly enjoyed books, art and music as they were at the center of her life.  Sundays were a day to go for lunch and meditation  at the Zen Mountain Monastery in Mount Tremper. She loved nature and being outdoors.  She was an exceptional overtone singer who sang with various groups in the area over the years.
Her friends have described Remy  as  one of the wisest people they have ever known. Her insights into people and situations were incredibly accurate and astute.  Remy had a magical, creative spirit, and touched the lives of many people..
Running errands with Remy around the area would always lead to numerous conversations with friends and acquaintances who were always happy to see and talk to Remy.  These  past  few year, she was thankful for the continued  love and support of her close friends, Betty MacDonad, Carol Seitz, Don Pollock, and from her son Doug Drossell, daughter in-law Kirsten Drossell, and her thoughts were always with her grandchildren, Emily Drossell and Susan Drossell.
Her life included love, happiness, adventures, great friends, dancing,  sadness, the loss of a daughter, and ultimately a disease that robbed her of many of her joys of life.    Through the end though, she continued to have hope, tell others to breath, and used her skills as a life coach to others, to help herself remain Remy Dios.

A memorial will be held in the back yard of her house on September 16, at 5415 Route 212 Mount Tremper, starting at 130pm.  Parking available at the church parking lot next door.  The family has set up go fund me page to help support the clean up of her beloved home in Mount Tremper.  Please contact Doug at 845-978-3368 for questions regarding arrangements.    https://www.gofundme.com/manage/remy-dios-memorial

Much progress made last Sunday. Kirsten reclaimed the back yard and we are ready for visitors for the memorial on Sunday. I made sure to get Kirsten out of the dumpster before they took it. Looks like we will need one more, but certainly no dumpster will be at her house on Sunday, as we also want to show off the car port. Mom would have been very happy. At least 3 years ago mom anyway.
