Remembering Rachel Mullen


On July 2nd, 2018, 19 year-old Rachel Mullen was in a fatal car accident. She was smart, beautiful, and kind. Rachel graduated from The Academy of Arts and Science at which she was involved in athletics and academic clubs. She attended the University of South Carolina with the dream of becoming a nurse. Rachel was home for the summer when the accident happened. 

Rachel was a joyous, energetic soul. She was always dancing, smiling, and making jokes for her friends. Whether it was academics or athletics, Rachel always did her best to succeed. She was so encouraging and uplifting to everyone in her life. 

Rachel had a deep, personal relationship with God and Jesus. We know that she is in Heaven looking down at her loved ones. Our hearts break as we miss her dearly. Rachel was involved with the Young-Life Youth Group in Myrtle Beach as well as in Columbia, SC while attending college. Her love for the Lord was infectious, and she loved to shine His light.  

This was an unexpected, tragic accident that took a young, precious life away from us.

We are asking for donations to cover the costs of a funeral and memorial service like she deserves. The support from her friends, family, and community would be  greatly appreciated. All funds collected will be given directly to her family.

My name is Mackenzie Lowrie and I am setting up this page directly for the Mullen Family. I have been friends with Rachel the past 6 years, and I’ve never met a kinder person than Rachel. Rachel and I went to middle school and high school together. We were best friends as well as teammates. These funds will be used for her memorial and funeral service. Rachel would’ve been the first one to help you, so please help her family in their time of need.
