Mark Kaufman, beloved son, brother, and friend to many, passed away on April 26th, 2017, after finally losing his battle with drugs. Through this fund, we remember Mark. We wish to sustain his legacy by helping people who faced some of the same challenges he did. 

Mark lit up the room. Friendly and warm-hearted, he was the kind of character who left a big impression on everyone he met. From the hockey rink (where he was a young star) to the most high-end restaurants in Florida (where he built his career), Mark made friends with people from all walks of life. 

Although he almost always had a smile on his face, Mark also suffered from poor mental health and drug addiction, which cut short his life. 

Healing Properties was there for Mark when he most needed support. A halfway house for men recovering from addiction and alcoholism, Healing Properties helped Mark to achieve a period of sobriety that lasted for years. They set Mark on track once again, shortly before his death. 

We are asking for donations to help people like Mark recover from addiction. With the money raised, we plan to support people living at Healing Properties, as well as other similar organisations.
