Thanks for being here. Let me tell you about Corina and Benito's passion project we've been working on for the past two years.
The Why:
For many of us, it’s hard to leave a conversation feeling like you learned something meaningful about the other person. Nowadays, it’s easier to share more about ourselves on social media then to the people around us. We’re connected online, but disconnected from each other. Our project, Remember Me, is a game you can play to get to know people better but to us, it's more than just a game: It’s an experience that gets people talking about the things we don’t talk about that often.
The What:
Corina and I created Remember Me, The Card Game. We’ve been aware for a while how social media has positively and negatively affected the lives of our friends and millions all around the world. With social media, we have a platform where we can stay connected at a distance, but at the end of the day we could be attempting to keep up with more people online than we do in person. This game is our attempt to bring people together and have genuine, meaningful conversations again. The game consists of 200 questions that you probably don’t get asked everyday, and unlike games like Cards Against Humanity or What The Meme?, you can actually play this game with your parents, kids, or for a second date. The two games just mentioned are super fun and popular, but the world needs a game where true conversation can happen and still have fun doing it. We’ve tested the game with a few friends and many strangers (later turned into friends) in the U.S and in Spain and the feedback we’ve received has been exciting and rewarding for us. We know the world needs a game like this and we just need to put it out there for the world to see.
The How (You Can You Help):
It’s not easy asking a friend or family member for money, but if we didn’t believe in this, trust me, there’s no way we would muster up the courage to ask you for your hard earned money. But we're not just asking for free money, this is how it'll work:
- If you donate $30 or more we will send you one of the first, complete versions of the game as soon as we get them.
This is how we plan to invest the $5,000:
- An estimated $4,000 will go towards design, creating 1,000 complete copies of the game, shipping cost and barcode setup. (1,000 copies is the minimum order with a great company we're working with)
- Roughly $1,000 will go towards trademarking the name, marketing the product and Remember Me networking events that are going to be amazing and we cannot wait to start them!
