Bashel's Relocation To New York

Last week, I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Pitzer College in Organizational Studies with a focus in Marketing. I am officially the first male in my family’s history to obtain a college degree. Understanding the systems of oppression that constantly work against black men, my success is not about me but rather the lack of agency those men before me were given. I'm thankful to be in the position to provide that agency for those coming after me.   

What’s next? In July, I will start a full-time rotational program with the Nielsen Company in New York. Last summer, I had the pleasure of interning with Nielsen on their Coca-Cola account in Atlanta, where I was given a return offer. The Nielsen Company is one of the nation's leading data analytics and consumer insights companies. Mostly known for their TV ratings, Nielsen works with ESPN, MARS, Target, Coca-Cola, 21st Century Fox, L'Oreal and more to help them understand their audience through data.

Unfortunately, Nielsen does not provide relocation assistance to begin my program. However,  I am a firm believer in not letting money hinder my opportunities. As a graduation gift, I am asking friends, family, mentors, programs, and others to assist with my relocation expenses.
