Relief aid for ANTALAHA from ENAWO

£3,554 of £20k goal

Raised by 60 people in 15 days

At 9:00 am on the 07 march 2017, Powerful category 4 tropical cyclone ENAWO hit the seaside town of Antalaha at full speed. Destructive winds were above 250 km/hour while its eye was moving slowly at only 10 km/hour, which destroyed the town nearly at 80%.

100% of the wooden houses are all gone, 80% of stronger houses are hit, all power supply has been cut, and 80% of all plantations are destroyed.

The locals are doing their best to help each other  but funds will be needed to support the relief. These people earn only about £50 a month per family at the most to live on and most of them lived in wooden houses. Therefore they desperatly need to be helped.

This collect aims to raising money to help the mayor (Mr Eddie Fernand) and his team with for any kind of supplies needed: food, medicine, energy, clothing, drinkable water, blankets and so on. But also reconstruction of huts, houses, construction of shelters etc…

As for the 10 march 2017 some examples of the prices I was told are:
- 1 iron sheet for roofing costs about £6 (about 7 Euros)
- 1 blanket costs about £4 (about £5 euros)
- 1  rice bag (50 kg) costs about £ 21 (about 24 euros)

Thank you very much for your generosity and help. As a person from Antalaha, on behalf of my fellow Antalahian, I am grateful for even the smallest donation

Love, light and blessings to all.

Hello everyone,

I just received a message from Mr Mayor of Antalaha who confirmed me that he received the money. He presented with 12,265,000 MGA (Ariary) and he is very if not beyond grateful. He said he will now be able to initiate new actions.
He will write a couple of formal letters for us tomorrow and I ll post them when I receive them.
So my friends, thank you so so so so much again for being part of this. Antalaha is rebuilding itself and had lots of support from around the world.
Bye for now,

blessings,

Dear All,

Thank you everybody for your generosity and for being part of this appeal. Thank you for sharing the words, thank you for being a compassionate human being, thank you for helping others to make their own donations, thank you for all your messages of support. Thank you for making this page worth it. It is amazing we did £3,007.00 together.

I am starting the process of handing over the money to Mr Mayor with the help of my sister Sabrina, who is on site in Antalaha. The 8% fee (more like 8.3% equal to £250) was not deducted from your donation as I personally took all charge of it all. I will post all the signed paperworks in due time on the update wall next week.

As for now, we do not take anymore donations.

I hope you will be able to visit our beloved region of SAVA, Madagascar one day. If you ever visit or revisit , I hope you ll enjoy the beauty of the place and please do remember that you were a part of making it beautiful again and brought the smile and courage to all the people of the Commune Urbaine of Antalaha again. It is going straight to the heart that people felt our despair around the world. It is truly amazing. BIG DOUBLE THUMB UP!!!!

I wish you all the best of the best in life, all the blessings to you and your loved ones, please be safe and enjoy life despite all its challenges. Let us all continue to grow with love and compassion towards each other

Blessings,

Preet kamal kaur
